Fleet Racing Pacific Coast Championship at Cascade Locks, Columbia River Gorge | August 4 - 5 |
Story |
You know it's windy when:
-The air is thick with leaves. -There cease to be white caps only white. -You have to sip your beer facing downwind. Saturday started at 12:00 with 15-20 knots of breeze building to 20-25. Sunday started at 10:30 with 10-15 knots of breeze building to 20, then 25, then after a last beat seeing 30, with a huge ease in both sails hiking for it all, the racing was concluded in time to miss solid 30s, gusting to 35 with more white on the water than blue... Nice to be sipping beers and soaking in the hard-fought weekend! Congratulations to the 2007 Pacific Coast Champions, Brendan Fahey and Alex Jones for seeing the big pressure and taking it! Thanks to CGRA for hosting some great racing with impressive timing, and throwing a great party with some tasty, tasty BBQ buffett and many kegs.
