The Lake Washington Sailing Club is hosting our annual Turkey Shoot Regatta on Saturday, November 11th 2006. This popular regatta is known for its good sized C15, Banshee, Laser and Lido fleets that battle it out for the big prize: Turkeys! Located in the Port of Sacramento, LWSC’s facilities include a clubhouse with a large covered deck, a launch ramp, grass area with picnic tables and an 800 lb. capacity hoist. This regatta is open to all centerboard sailboats 19 feet and under in length.

Schedule for the Day
9:00 a.m. Registration begins in the clubhouse
10:30 a.m. Skippers’ Meeting on the deck of the clubhouse
11:15 a.m. First Warning
3:00 p.m. Final race start deadline

Entry & Fees
The entry fee is $25 with a $5 discount for early registration (received by November 4th), and a $2 discount for US Sailing members.

Racing
Weather permitting, up to six races will be sailed. Racing will be held under the 2005 to 2008 US Sailing Rules of Sailing and one-design class rules except as amended by the sailing instructions.

Scoring & Classes
A minimum of five boats of the same one design class will constitute a fleet. One-design classes with fewer than five registered will be grouped into an Open fleet and will be scored using the 2005 Table of North American Portsmouth handicap ratings. Racing will be held under the 2005 to 2008 US Sailing Rules of Sailing and one-design class rules except as amended by the sailing instructions. Use of the 720 penalty is strongly encouraged.

Awards will be awarded after the last race as follows: Seven or fewer starters 2 awards. Eight or more starters 3 awards

Location
To get to the clubhouse take the Harbor Blvd exit off of Business 80 in Sacramento. Turn left from East bound 80 and Right from West bound 80, onto Harbor Blvd at the end of the exit ramp. Take Harbor Blvd south to Industrial Blvd. Turn right on Industrial Blvd. Travel approximately 100 yards and turn left across the railroad tracks. Travel approx 25 yards till you see on your right a paved road. Follow the paved road to the end and turn right on to the gravel/dirt road to the parking lot. See our website for more details.
